Job Description

For our company in custom machine construction, we are looking for a driven software engineer who wants to further develop the automation department within Twin-tech. With our enthusiastic team of technicians, we develop and build customer-specific machines and automate production lines. The entire process, from concept design to engineering, manufacturing, assembly, and commissioning, is carried out in-house. Additionally, we support other companies with our engineering services in the development of new machines, production lines, and factories.

The duties as a software/PLC engineer will involve conceptualizing, developing, programming, and commissioning controls for machines, robot solutions, and automation solutions for clients from various industries. You will work closely with mechanical and electrical engineers to achieve an efficient overall solution.

What are you going to do?

The daily tasks include:

  • Designing machine and production line controls
  • Design and development of PLC programs
  • Software development for the automation of production processes
  • Designing user interfaces in collaboration with a UX designer
  • Integrating PLC control systems
  • Connecting electrical hardware components
  • Commissioning of the machines
  • Documentation of the software, including functional specifications, connection diagrams, and user manuals
  • Providing technical support for troubleshooting Within the team, you are responsible for the machine software and controls.

Functie eisen:

Requirements:

  • HBO/WO degree in electrical engineering, industrial automation, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in machine construction.
  • Extensive knowledge of PLC systems such as Siemens, Beckhoff, CodeSys, etc., and their applications within machine construction.
  • Experience with PLC programming and machine control in industrial environments, preferably within the machine construction industry.
  • Familiarity with machine safety and relevant standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to quickly respond to technical challenges.
  • Knowledge of software development tools such as TIA Portal, RSLogix, TwinCAT, etc.
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as Profibus, Profinet, EtherCAT, etc.
  • Due to the small team, broad availability is expected.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.

Optional skills:

  • Experience with designing and programming motion control systems.
  • Knowledge of robotics and robot control systems.
  • Experience with C# or similar programming languages.
  • Experience with E-plan or similar software packages.
